Overview
When Michael and Susan Dell moved to Austin in 1985, they envisioned creating a vibrant center for Jewish culture and community. In 1996, they donated 40 acres in Northwest Austin, and by 2000, what would become the Dell JCC opened its doors, becoming the heart of Jewish life in Greater Austin.
The Dell JCC was thoughtfully designed to serve as a central hub, bringing together Austin’s Jewish organizations in a way that stands out from other Jewish community centers across the country. Along with traditional amenities, the Dell JCC anchors a vibrant campus that includes:
This space enables these organizations to collaborate, address the evolving needs of Austin’s Jewish community, and strengthen their collective impact.
To ensure it continues to fulfill this vital role, the newly expanded 38,000-square-foot Dell JCC facility was unveiled in 2023. It now features an education center, meeting rooms, a café, preschool, an upgraded community hall, a modern fitness center, and a family aquatic center.
The expanded Dell JCC remains a welcoming space for Jewish residents to gather, learn, and connect. Its intentional design, financial aid programs, and central role in Shalom Austin ensure it remains a part of Austin’s Jewish community, supporting generations to come.

With its versatile and expansive spaces, the center can host events like IGNITE!, a community-wide celebration and fundraiser.
Members can enjoy state-of-the-art fitness, including strength training, an aquatic center, group exercises, and on-site childcare.
The project included a refresh of the Zeifman Family Early Childhood Program, a preschool for children to attain school readiness.
