Geeta leads the foundation’s growth initiatives, expanding pathways that change lives. She previously served as country director for India from 2018 to 2024. Since joining the foundation in 2007, she has held several roles, including leading the microfinance program in India and guiding global impact investments.
Geeta has served on the boards of several financial institutions, including Ujjivan, Janalakshmi, Swadhaar, Arohan, and Micro Housing Finance Corporation. She is a member of the investment committees for the India Educational Investment Fund and Education Catalyst Fund. From 2017 to 2019, she chaired the Impact Investors Council in India, and in 2020, Forbes named her one of India’s 20 Power Women Changing the Game. She is also an independent director on the boards of Equitas Small Finance Bank and Home First Finance Ltd.
Before joining the foundation, Geeta spent more than 12 years in corporate finance at PricewaterhouseCoopers in India, advising companies on partnerships, mergers, business strategy, and valuations. She holds degrees from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi.
