Dell Jewish Community Center
The Dell Jewish Community Center is the vibrant hub of Jewish life in Greater Austin. Collaborating closely with community leaders, we strive to expand its impact, enrich its offerings, modernize its facilities and security, and forge strong connections with other local Jewish organizations. Our efforts uplift life in Austin through a tapestry of social, health, mental health, educational, and spiritual activities and programs that are open to Jewish and non-Jewish families alike.
Creating Joyous Jewish Experiences
Many Jewish teens and young adults are seeking opportunities to embrace their heritage, connect with one another, and lead proud Jewish lives, even in uncertain times. We collaborate with partners who have strong track records inspiring Jewish students and young professionals and fostering community through Shabbat dinners, holiday celebrations, volunteer opportunities, and social gatherings. These experiences are crucial to sustaining individuals’ Jewish identity today and nurturing communitywide Jewish continuity tomorrow.
Countering Antisemitism & Anti-Zionism
Antisemitism and hatred toward Israel have reached historic levels in the U.S. and globally. We are supporting efforts to increase awareness, foster more public support for the Jewish community and Israel, and deepen connections between Jews and non-Jews. Our approach builds on collaborations with partners who are focused on education, bridge-building, and innovative strategies to shape attitudes among young adults and online.
Combatting Discrimination in Education
Jewish students have the right to learn in classrooms and live on campuses where they are free from discrimination. We fund programs that promote the awareness, action, and alliances needed to foster positive campus climates for Jewish students. Our efforts empower these students to advocate effectively, provide training for educators and administrators, and ensure accuracy in Israel-related curriculum. With our partners, we are creating safe spaces for Jewish students in K-12 and higher education.
Fostering Family Stability
Our programs create opportunities for under-resourced Jewish families to build better futures for themselves and their children. One in five Jewish Americans lives in poverty — a total of 1.5 million people – including many immigrants, single mothers, first-generation college students, and people with disabilities. We are working with partners to provide culturally sensitive social service outreach within Jewish centers, particularly in under-resourced areas where populations struggle with housing and food.
